12 Projects of Christmas

Yes, you’ve guessed it, this is another list of 12 for Christmas, but ours is worth sticking around for! We gathered together at Passion HQ to reflect back over 2017 and compile our top 12 projects of the year, so here it is, from a multi-channel ad campaign to a complex e-commerce platform and everything in between.

1. Abbeylands Furniture

Abbeylands Furniture is a Navan-based supplier of soft home furnishings to retail outlets across Ireland and the UK. The brief was to design an e-commerce website that showcased their product range and was easy for customers to navigate and place orders. This complex project entailed cross-referencing databases and getting over 2,000 products onto the site. It was a real challenge at times, but the result was more than worth it. Learn more.

2. Blackwater Distillery

We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Blackwater Distillery. We design and produce all the artwork for their product range. This year we created the packaging for ‘Boyle’s Gin’ which they produce for Aldi Ireland. Sticking to the West Waterford theme, the inspiration for this bottle came from Robert Boyle, resident of Lismore Castle and often-hailed as the founder of modern chemistry. The gin was a real hit and has won multiple awards. Learn more.

3. Capital Credit Union

Formerly known as Dundrum Credit Union, Capital Credit Union has 6 branches across South Dublin. There have been many changes in this sector in recent years, including several mergers. It is crucial that members are properly informed about what is happening in their local credit union. That was the reason behind a major campaign we designed for Capital Credit Union – to raise awareness about the new name (Capital) and encourage members to take out a loan. The campaign consisted of press and outdoor advertising, direct mail and branch signage. Learn more.

4. Invest Kilkenny

Invest Kilkenny is an initiative established by Kilkenny County Council to promote and facilitate investment across the county. We were tasked with designing a visually-appealing and informative website that showcased Kilkenny’s many advantages as a business location, as well its natural beauty and friendly charm. The videos alone on this website are well worth a look. Learn more.

5. Magic Hill

Magic Hill Holidays is a specialised holiday provider with an emphasis on responsible travel. Using their local knowledge in different countries, its founders have developed a series of personalised cultural and educational packages for people in search of an alternative holiday. Its founders – Victor and Bronagh – got in touch with us during the year and asked if we would design their logo and website. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with these guys and we wish them every success as they embark on the next phase of their business adventure. Learn more.

6. MK Health

MK Health is a timely project as we over-indulge in December and start dieting in January. Michael Kindregan, the man behind MK Health believes in an all-round approach to health and well-being. He works with his clients to create a bespoke programme which looks at everything from what they eat, to how much sleep they get. He is truly passionate and knowledgeable in his field. He just needed some help to get his message out there, which is what we did. Learn more.

7. People First Credit Union

Formerly known as Portlaoise Credit Union, People First Credit Union has 4 branches and 25,000 members. It has grown rapidly in recent years through a series of mergers with neighbouring credit unions. In an attempt to accentuate the positive and allay some people’s fears about the changes, we created a campaign around a new theme called ‘We’re Stronger Together’. It has proven very popular as it reminds people of the community ethos and strength in numbers that is central to People First Credit Union. Learn more.

8. Touching Hearts

Touching Hearts is a charity on a mission. It was established to raise funding for a new centre. The original centre was established in the 1970s to support children with severe disabilities and their families. The centre however is no longer fit for purpose so the charity (Touching Hearts) was founded with the aim of raising €1.5 million to build a new facility. In a bid to help them achieve their objective, we overhauled their branding and designed a brand new and very engaging website. Learn more.

9. Suirway

A website is never finished. It needs to be looked after and maintained, a lot like a house. And every so often, it needs a structural overhaul. That is exactly what we did for Suirway Bus & Coaches in 2017, almost 10 years after we designed their first website. The company is well-known across the southeast region for its bus routes and coach hire. In more recent years, it has expanded into other markets in search of new opportunities. Learn more.

10. The Heart Clinic

The Heart Clinic is part of Owens Cardiology, a speciality cardiology practice headed up by Dr Owens, a senior Consultant Cardiologist based at University Hospital Waterford, Whitfield Clinic Waterford and Bon Secours Hospital Cork. They wanted to open a new clinic in 2017 and tasked us with creating everything from a new name, logo, website, signage and everything in between. It was one of our favourite projects of 2017 because they really trusted us to deliver. Learn more.

11. Theatre Royal

The Theatre Royal is Ireland’s oldest continually operating theatre. Lovingly restored, this Victorian gem hidden within a beautiful Georgian building, is a jewel in the midst of Waterford’s Viking Triangle. This summer they asked us to design the artwork for a major in-house production entitled ‘A Taste of Beckett’. The design we created appeared in various locations across the city to promote and the production, which played to packed houses for its entire run.

12. SELDOC

SELDOC (South East London Doctors on Call) is one of our UK clients. It’s the equivalent of CAREDOC in Ireland. We began working with them a few years ago when they asked us to ‘re-brand’ their organisation and build their new website. They remain a good client of ours and we regularly design material for them. When they moved offices during the year, we designed all the marketing collateral, including signage and pull up stands. So there you have it, a very interesting and varied year we’ve had. Hopefully 2018 brings more of the same. Happy Christmas and New Year to all, and remember, dare to be different, and do it with Passion.
