Project overview

Magic Hill Holidays is a specialised holiday provider with an emphasis on responsible travel. Using their local knowledge in different countries, its founders have developed a series of personalised cultural and educational packages for people in search of an alternative holiday.

The tagline – Travel beyond Tourism – says it all. They believe the best way to experience a country is to distance yourself from being a tourist and spend time with the people, immerse yourself in their culture and see first-hand how they live. They work with local communities throughout the world to bring this concept to life for travellers who are curious, open-minded and want to experience the real world.

Its founders – Victor and Bronagh – got in touch with us through a mutual friend and asked if we would design their logo and website. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with these guys and we wish them every success as they embark on the next phase of their business adventure.

When they first approached us, they had already selected a name – Magic Hill. It is actually a place in Co. Louth, near Bronagh’s home-place. While it didn’t particularly have anything to do with the new business, it did have a nice ring to it, which they liked. From a design perspective, they liked the idea of incorporating a hummingbird as it evoked a sense of energy and exoticism. And so the logo was born which then morphed into a brand story and full suite of stationery items and online assets.
