Biomedical & Clinical Engineering Association of Ireland (BEAI)

Project overview

The Biomedical & Clinical Engineering Association of Ireland (BEAI) is the representative body for medical technology professionals in Ireland. It aims to serve and advance the interests of its members through continuous professional development, advocacy and representation. It acts as a bridge between industry, academia and the health system, ensuring the optimal use of medical technology to improve patient outcomes.

They approached us after they saw the new website we completed for the Irish College of Physicists in Medicine (ICPM). Their old website was nearing the end of its natural life, so they needed a nice, new shiny one. Having recently finished the ICPM website, with whom they share a lot of characteristics, we were able to hit the ground running. It also helped that they were a great bunch of people – very practical and professional.

The main aim of the website was to encourage and enable eligible candidates to apply for BEAI membership. As well as providing information about membership benefits, the different levels and CPD guidelines, the website needed to serve as a membership application and management platform. It also needed to provide details of upcoming events, new job opportunities and recent publications.

All in all, there was a lot to consider, which is why we spent a lot of time (more than usual) scoping the project and making sure everything was covered, before we started to design or build anything. Experience has taught us that every hour you spend planning will save you two hours fixing. The devil is in detail so it’s important to get it right at the outset. This was a great website to get over the line.

In the client's own words

We couldn't be happier with our upgraded website. The new design is sleek, fast, and user-friendly - exactly what we needed to better serve our users. The team was professional, responsive, and delivered everything on time. Highly recommended!
