Once the new logo and brand identity were in place, we set about designing and building their new website. The most challenging part of the job was applying the new branding to each and every page in a way that didn’t dilute the dramatic effect, while still allowing for all the content and images to sit comfortably around it.
Another challenge, though not an unusual one when it comes to web design, was pulling together all the content. Thankfully in this instance, they had a marketing consultant to assist us. Nevertheless, it still took a few weeks to gather all the text and photographs.
As an aside, clients often have a blind spot when it comes to content. They can spend weeks obsessing about the design, and then at the 11th hour, just before the site is due to go live, they start writing the content. While we’re happy to write the content for our clients, we can’t make stuff up, we need some direction from the client; we need basic facts.
