Castlemine Farm

Project overview

Castlemine Farm is an award-winning producer of aged beef, lamb and pork. All their animals are hand-reared and pasture-fed on the family farm in county Roscommon. All their meat is fully traceable, direct from the farm, prepared and packaged by skilled butchers. They also offer a wholesome and tasty range of readymade meals produced in house at their farm kitchen.

We got in touch with them after we stumbled across their website. We were struck by the quality of their produce but we felt the website wasn’t doing them justice. As it happened, they were thinking of re-doing the website and looking around for a suitable web agency. We quickly hit if off and agreed to work together.

It was a pleasure dealing with them. They are passionate about what they do and it shows in the way they treat their animals and in the quality of the produce. We were delighted to help them by creating a website that captures their personality and gives them a platform to grow their business.

Their previous website wasn’t too bad but it was missing that magic ingredient – the brand story. It needed an overhaul and refresh to bring the key messages to the fore. Not only did we rebuild it from scratch but we spent a lot of time crafting the story and sourcing nice images.

There was also a new video commissioned which auto-plays on the home page and goes a long way to setting the right scene. Likewise, the menu bar at the top of the website is a bit different and very tactile. We built the website in WordPress and used WooCommerce for the online shop. It works really well actually. You can place an order from anywhere in Ireland and the meat is delivered to you the next (working) day. There’s also a click and collect option if you live in the area.
