Granville Hotel

Project overview

The Granville Hotel is an historic, four star hotel situated in the heart of Waterford city. Built in the 1700s, it exudes timeless grandeur and elegance, combining the hospitality of old with the comfort of new.

A family-owned hotel, it is immaculately maintained with well-appointed rooms, great dining options and a warm friendly atmosphere.

The client approached us having seen the work we had done for other hotels. They liked our strategic approach to brand design and asked if we could help them. They had recently appointed a new general manager who was keen to refresh their brand identity and streamline their marketing collateral. This is the type of project we love so we were delighted to get on board.

They asked us to refresh their logo, but not to radically alter it. They still liked the familiarity and charm of their old logo; they just wanted to modernise it a small bit. After all, they are a traditional, award-winning, family-owned hotel. It didn’t make sense to completely re-design it or do anything drastic. It just needed a bit of refreshment and refinement.

Importantly, we also prepared a comprehensive brand style guide outlining the correct fonts and colour palette. We designed templates for all their business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, email signatures, menus, signage etc. They were delighted with the new brand guidelines result because they finally had a ‘rule book’ they could follow, which is very important when you have lots of staff and suppliers.
