Carlow Credit Union

Project overview

Carlow District Credit Union is a co-operative based financial institution, owned by the 26,000 members who save and borrow with them. Established in 1963, it has grown from strength to strength over the years. It has two branches – its head office in Askea, Carlow town and its sub office in Ballon, Co. Carlow, with more to follow as the pace of amalgamation picks up.

They approached us in 2016 having seen the work we’d done for other credit unions around Ireland. We really hit it off at our very first meeting, and within a matter of weeks, we were busy designing their new website and writing their marketing plan. We continue to work with them on a day to day basis, updating their website, designing their newspaper ads, co-ordinating their direct mail etc. etc.

It would be easy to think that all credit unions are the same. After all, many of them look and feel the same and most of them sell the same products and services. In reality however, every credit union is different. Some are urban, some are rural, some are big, some are small. Consequently, it would be wrong to adopt a one size fits all approach. It simply wouldn’t work.

The campaign theme ‘we’re here for you’ is a concept we presented to them following a brainstorm we had with their board of directors and perfectly captures their personal attention and professional service. As a community organisation, Carlow Credit Union is there for its members. It understands that daily living isn’t easy and that you don’t always know what’s around the corner.
