The Caterers

Project overview

The Caterers provide a quality, all-inclusive catering service to private and corporate in Dublin and beyond. Their restaurant quality food is born out of many years’ experience in some of Ireland’s top restaurants. All their food is freshly made every day using the best local and seasonal produce. They can cater for any size or complexity of event, whether it’s a wedding or barbeque, fine dining or just food.

We met them at a networking event in Dublin a few years ago so when the opportunity arose to re-design their website, they asked if we could do it for them. We didn’t need to be asked twice because they’re nice people, and we’re big foodies!

We were acutely aware when we started designing this website that imagery would be key. When it comes to food, a picture paints a thousand words. It’s why every page is essentially a full screen image with the text overlaid. It’s a technique which works well because there wasn’t a huge amount of text required; it was all about the visual aspect.

The site is an homage to food, a feast for the senses; its primary purpose is to solicit a response in the form of an email or phone call or email from an interested party. It also serves as a place where interested customers can view sample menus and learn about the various service son offer (venue catering, event catering etc.)
